This lawsuit is about front-loading washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool, Maytag, and Kenmore that fail to self-clean and tend to accumulate bacteria and mold, resulting in bad odors and ruined laundry.  The plaintiffs allege that Whirlpool Corporation breached warranties, were negligent, and violated various state consumer protection statues in connection with the manufacture and sale of these washers.

All residents of the United States and its territories who either purchased an new washer, received a washer as part of the purchase or remodel of a home, or received a new washer as a gift may be eligible to be a class member.  The front-loading washers were manufactured between 2001 and 2010.  To see if your front-loading washer is eligible, click here.

Typical Settlement Amount:

Class members are eligible to receive either a $50 cash payment, a 20% or 5% rebate on a new washer (5% if customer did not experience mold or odor issues), or up to a $500 for out-of-pocked repair expenses.
