If you are a property owner and you are properly identified in the tax records as the owner of residential property, you do not need to provide proof. If you recently bought the property and are not shown in the tax records, you must provide proof of your ownership. If you are a tenant or an occupying owner, you need to provide proof of residence, such as a utility bill or driver’s license.

Eligibility:

You may be eligible if you are an individual who owned or lived in real property for a month or more, for residential purposes, at any time between August 1, 2016 and October 28, 2021 in one of the geographic areas shown on the map. See the zone maps at https://www.dustsettlement.com/zone-maps/. The class does not include owners or renters of non-residential commercial property.

Typical Settlement Amount:

The Residential Unit Value shall be comprised of two amounts, one for damages to real property and the other for damages to personal property. Amounts shall be calculated using weighted zone values determined by the Special Master for the settlement. The residential unit values times the respective weighted zone values should equal the net settlement amount. If more than one class member submits a claim for the same residence, each will receive a divided share of the residential unit value.

In addition to these payments, the settlement fund includes amounts for remediation and mitigation measures.
