Proof of Purchase:You must have documentation to support your claim. For Activation Claims, you must have photographs, invoices, receipts, insurance records, or the like (a) that supports your claim that a non-fire activation occurred, (b) that states the date the activation occurred, and (c) that proves recoverable damages. For Replacement Claims, you must have documentation that you paid to replace the Subject Sprinklers.
Eligibility:You may be eligible if you owned a residential or commercial building while it contained a Subject Sprinkler or while the structure sustained water damage from a non-fire activation of a Subject Sprinkler. The Subject Sprinklers are Viking VK457 sprinklers which were made between January 1, 2013 and March 31, 2015.
Typical Settlement Amount:For Activation Claims: Claims can be submitted for non-fire activations that occurred on or after May 9, 2020. Such Claims must be submitted to the Settlement Administrator within 180 days after the non-fire activation. Claim Forms for Activation Claims can be submitted starting on May 9, 2020. Monetary benefits for unreimbursed expenses for things such as remediating water damage, repairing or replacing property, material and labor costs, and alternative lodging and meals. For Replacement Claims: Replacement of sprinklers at no cost or reimbursement of for replaced sprinklers. Replacement Claims may be submitted immediately.
