Proof of Purchase:You must provide proof of purchase, such as a distributor or wholesaler invoice or receipt, or proof of purchase provided by a distributor or wholesaler specifying (1) the purchase price of the Viega copper press fittings, (2) that you are the one who bought them, (3) the date of purchase (during the appropriate period), (4) the item or product you bought and the price, (5) the supplier, and (6) proof of payment. Note that you may be able to obtain proof of purchase from the distributor who sold you the items.
Eligibility:You may be eligible if you bought Viega ProPress copper press fittings indirectly, from a wholesale distributor in the US, between January 29, 2015 and September 18, 2020. You must also have your place of business in, or have bought the fittings in one of the following places: Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, Vest Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
Note that there are two forms which you may use to submit claims.
(1) The Claim Form is for those making claims on copper fittings bought in the class period set forth above. The deadline for submitting Claim Forms is December 15, 2020.
(2) The Rebate Form is for those who want to claim rebates for purchases made between December 18, 2020 and December 31, 2021. Forms for those purchases may be submitted from approximately January 1, 2022. The deadline to submit Rebate Forms is approximately March 1, 2022.
Claim Forms: Payment from the Cash Settlement Fund, up to 25% of their total eligible purchases of the copper fittings. Rebate Forms: Payment from the Rebate Program, capped at $500.
Total Settlement Amount: $10 million in the Cash Settlement Fund; up to $5 million for the Rebate Program
