Case Summary:This settlement resolves a class action about an explosion and fire that took place at the Superior Refinery in Superior, Wisconsin on April 26, 2018. The complaint alleged that Husky Oil Operations Ltd. and Superior Refining Company, LLC were negligent in operating the facility and did not adequately compensate those in the community for the mandatory evacuation that was ordered by the local government. Typical Settlement Amount:Estimated at $150 per claimant, not to exceed $300 per household. If SRC’s Reimbursement Program made payments to or for you, that amount will be deducted from the amount you receive from this settlement. Amounts may be increased up to $200 per claimant or $400 per household, or may be reduced, depending on costs and payments for the suit and on the number of valid claims received.
