Case Summary:This settlement resolves issues brought under both a Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective action and a class action about the treatment of employees by Sprint/United Management Company. Eligibility:You may be eligible if you are an individual who worked as a non-exempt employee at a Sprint retail store in any of the following places during the listed time period:
- In Arizona, between February 28, 2018 to December 31, 2020
- In Colorado, between February 28, 2016 to December 31, 2020
- In New York, between February 28, 2013 to December 31, 2020
- In Ohio, between February 28, 2016 to December 31, 2020
- In Washington, between February 28, 2016 to December 31, 2020
You may be a class member for both the class action settlement and the FLSA settlement. However, note that in order to be a member of the FLSA settlement, you must have submitted an opt-in consent form by January 8, 2021.
Typical Settlement Amount:Benefits: 70% of the net settlement fund will go to the class action settlement and 30% to the FLSA collective settlement. Individual awards will be assigned based on your number of workweeks as compared to the number of workweeks of all class or collective members. If you are a member of both classes, you will receive a share of the settlement money from each. For tax purposes, the awards will be considered to be 33.33% wages and 66.66% civil penalties and liquidated damages.
