Eligibility:You may be eligible if you own, owned, occupy, or occupied property in the Village of Roxana, IL within an area known as the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Study Area, between January 1, 1986 and the date of the Notice. See the Notice for a map and description of the area included.
If you do not opt out of the settlement, you will be bound by the following terms:
- You agree not to object to the Shell defendants investigation, remediation, and site closure activities.
- You will provide a written acknowledgement of a Groundwater Management Zone.
- You will agree to provide access to your property for continued remediation activities.
- You will agree to comply with 35 Illinois Administrative Code Part 742 if you construct future structures or modify existing structures in the settlement class area.
- You will agree to make written disclosures to future purchasers.

Typical Settlement Amount:Varies, depending on a number of factors such as length of occupancy or ownership of the property; whether the property is residential, commercial, or other; the assessed value of residential property; where the property is located with respect to groundwater conditions; and so on. It will also depend on the number of valid claims received.
