Case Summary:

Pella Corporation and Pella Windows and Doors, Inc. will be setting aside over $25 million to settle a class action alleging that Pella ProLine Casement Windows have a defect that allows water to enter and cause damage to the windows or surrounding property. This class action was settled once before, in 2011, but in June 2014 the settlement was rejected on appeal. You may have previously submitted forms for the earlier settlement, but you will need to resubmit them now.

Proof of Purchase:

You must supply proof of ownership of the structure containing the windows, purchase and installation of Pella windows, former expenses relating to the damage, current damage that require work, and so on. See the claim form for further details.

Eligibility:

You may be eligible if you are a current or former owner of a building containing Pella ProLine brand aluminum clad wood casement, awning, or transom windows, including the 250 and 450 series, made by Pella between 1991 and 2009, who has or has had damage to the windows or to the property surrounding the windows. 

Typical Settlement Amount:

Cash for new products, installation labor, finishing, and damage to other property. For windows less than 15 years old, awards are the sum of these items; awards may be prorated. For windows more than 15 years old, awards are 25% of the sum of these items.
