Overlake Hospital Medical Center and Overlake Medical Clinics, LLC are electing to settle a class action about a cyberattack that took place in December 2019. The complaint alleged that Overlake did not take sufficient measures to protect patient personal and health information against the data breach. Typical Settlement Amount:

Two types of payments are available. (1) Expense Reimbursement, up to $250: For documented expenses incurred in dealing with the data breach, such as bank fees, payments for credit monitoring or identity theft insurance, up to three hours of time at $20 per hour, and so on. (2) Extraordinary Expense Reimbursement, up to $2,500: For documented monetary losses more than likely due to the data breach, occurring between December 1, 2019 and December 13, 2021, and for which other sources of reimbursement were exhausted.
