You may be eligible as a Settlement Class member if you were sent notification that your personally identifiable information (PII) was potentially compromised in the data breach that took place between August 27, 2020 and September 20, 2000. You may also be a Credit Monitoring Subclass member if you were sent notification that your Social Security number or driver’s license number was potentially compromised in the data breach.

Typical Settlement Amount:

For Settlement Class members: (1) Reimbursement of documented, out-of-pocket expenses, such as bank fees, cell phone charges, fees for credit reports or credit monitoring, and so on, incurred to deal with the data breach, between August 27, 2020 and the claim deadline. (2) Reimbursement for lost time, for up to six hours of time spent dealing with the data breach, at $20/hour. Time over three hours must be documented. Reimbursements of (1) and (2) together are subject to a maximum of $300. (3) Documented Extraordinary Loss Reimbursement, for actual, documented losses, more than likely caused by the data breach, occurring between August 27, 2020 and the claim deadline. Up to a maximum of $3,000.

For Credit Monitoring Subclass member: A year of credit monitoring, in addition to any credit monitoring previously offered by Nebraska Medicine or UNMC after the data breach. If you previously signed up for credit monitoring, it will automatically be extended for another year. If you did not previously sign up for credit monitoring, Experian will contact you directly to offer you a free year of credit monitoring.
