Case Summary:Monmouth University is paying $1.3 million to settle a class action alleging it breached an implied contract with students when it changed to online, remote learning and services in March 2020 because of Covid-19. The complaint claimed Monmouth had an implied contract with students to provide in-person, on-campus education for the Spring 2020 semester and that the closure of the campus breached that contract and that students are owed partial tuition refunds.
