Case Summary:This settlement resolves a class action against Insurance Technologies Corp. (ITC) and Zywave, Inc. about a data breach that took place in February 27, 2021 and affected individuals who were customers of insurance brokers who were customers of the two companies. The complaint alleged that unauthorized parties gained access to information stored in one or the other of the companies’ computer systems, including names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers.

Eligibility:You may be eligible if you had an address on file in ITC’s or Zywave’s business records at the time of the data breach and your personally identifiable information (PII) may have been exposed. If you are a class member, you will have been emailed or mailed a Notice about the data breach. Note that not all customers of insurance brokers who are customers of the two companies are eligible.
Typical Settlement Amount:Four benefits are available to class members: (1) For California residents at the time of the data breach: Cash payment of up to $100, not to exceed $300 if additional funds remain. (2) Reimbursement for time spent dealing with the data breach: Up to $200 at $25 per hour. (3) Reimbursement of out-of-pocket losses from identity theft or fraud: Up to $5,000. (4) Twelve months of Financial Shield identity theft detection services from Aura and twelve months of identity restoration services. Amounts claimed may be reduced if claims exceed the amounts set by the Settlement Agreement.
