Green Dot has agreed to settle a class action about a longer-than-anticipated service disruption at some times during the period of May 15-22, 2016. The complaint alleges that some holders of Green Dot prepaid debit cards, and or of Walmart MoneyCards issued by Green Dot, attempted to use their cards during these dates but were unable to, because of issues arising from a processor conversion.

Not all cardholders are eligible. For example, you are not eligible if you closed your account prior to May 14, 2016; if you did not attempt to use your card during the disruption period; or if you attempted to use your card during the period and were able to do so. 

Typical Settlement Amount:

Class members may receive the following: (1) a one-month fee holiday from their account’s monthly maintenance fee, (2) for those who suffered financial or other losses, who do not have supporting documents, up to $100, (3) for those who suffered financial or other losses, who have supporting documents, up to $750.
