Case Summary:

A $1.2 million settlement fund has been set up to settle claims stemming from the alleged property damage, inconvenience, and nuisance caused by a fire on April 3, 2015 in Building 6 at GE’s Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Residents in the area were told to shelter in place from April 3-5, 2015, with doors and windows closed and air conditioners off. The complaint also alleges that particulate matter and smoke invaded and damaged homes and other property.

Eligibility:

You may be eligible if you lived in, or owned residential property in, (a) a two-mile radius of the AP6 Building at 4000 Buechel Bank Road in Louisville, Kentucky, or (b) a two- to three-mile radius of the AP6 Building in an area bounded by Fern Valley Road to the south and Route 150 to the northeast. Persons who received postcard notices are believed to be in Zones 1, 2, or 3, depending on the color of the postcard: blue for in Zone 1, green for Zone 2, and yellow for Zone 3. Typical Settlement Amount:

(1) Zone 1, $30; Zone 2, $20; Zone 3, $10. (2) Other amounts if claiming for out-of-pocket losses or damages. Final amounts for both types of claims depend on the number of valid claims received.
