Case Summary:

Forefront Dermatology, SC and Forefront Management, LLC have agreed to a settlement concerning a ransomware attack that began in May 2021. The complaint alleged that the attack exposed information on Forefront’s patients, employees, or other affiliated persons, which may have included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license information, tax records, bank account and routing information, and payment information, as well as information relating to health insurance claims, prescriptions, and medical records.

If you wish to make a claim for reimbursement of documented losses, you must provide documentation of the losses.


You may be eligible if you are a natural person who is a resident of the US whose personal information was potentially compromised in the ransomware attack, and who was sent, by US mail or email, a notice from Forefront that your personal information may have been compromised in the ransomware attack.

Typical Settlement Amount:


- One or more of the following options: (1) Up to two years of credit monitoring and insurance services. (2) Up to $10,000 for reimbursement of documented losses that are more than likely a result of the Forefront ransomware attack and not otherwise recoverable through insurance. (3) Up to $125 for reimbursement of lost time spent to avoid or mitigate fraud and identity theft due to the ransomware attack.

- In the alternative: A cash payment, amount to be determined based on the number of claimants and the amounts of their claims.

Note that claims for credit monitoring and insurance services will be paid first; reimbursements for documented losses and lost time second; and alternative cash payments third.
