Case Summary:This settlement plus a Consent Decree resolve both a class action and Department of Justice (DOJ) suit against Fiat Chrysler and Robert Bosch companies concerning 2014-2016 Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles that have 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. The complaint for the class action alleged that the subject vehicles were equipped with auxiliary emissions control devices that resulted in excessive emission of pollutants and that Fiat Chrysler had misled consumers about them. The DOJ lawsuit alleged that Fiat Chrysler had violated the Clean Air Act and the California Health and Safety Code.
