- You are a person, including a corporate or non-corporate entity,
- Who paid telephone user taxes (TUTs) to the County of Los Angeles,
- On telephone services other than local-only telephone services, teletypewriter exchange service, or long distance telephone service where charges varied by both time and distance,
- Provided between August 25, 2005 and November 4, 2008,
- Who have not already received a refund of the taxes.
The tax was typically collected on residential and commercial landlines with services addresses within, and for mobile services with billing addresses within, the unincorporated areas of the country Prepaid mobile services are not included in this settlement.
Typical Settlement Amount:Varies. Without documentation, standard amounts: residential landlines, $27.50; business landlines or mobile services, $46. With documentation, 100% of taxes paid during the class period may be refunded.
