A partial settlement of $35,750,000has been reached in an antitrust class action. A group of Tyson companies (Tyson Foods, Inc., Tyson Chicken, Inc., Tyson Breeders, Inc., and Tyson Poultry) is paying $21,000,000 and Perdue Foods, LLC is paying $14,750,000 toward the total. The complaint alleges that these and other chicken integrators conspired to reduce the prices paid to broiler chicken growers, violating antitrust laws and the Packers and Stockyards Act (PSA).

The term “broilers” does not include specialty chicken grown, processed, and sold according to halal, kosher, free range, pasture-raised, or organic standards. Specialty chicken does not include chicken raised without antibiotics, such as those grown with No Antibiotics Ever (NAE) or Antibiotic Free (ABF) standards.Typical Settlement Amount:
Pro-rata share of the net settlement fund, in proportion to the payments you received for broiler grow-out services as compared to the total amounts of payments received by all class members.
