Case Summary:

Britax Child Safety, Inc. is settling a class action concerning two of its child car seats, The Britax Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Seat and the Britax Pioneer Harness-2-Booster Seat. The complaint alleged that the seats were defective and that “the structure surrounding the harness and the top tether are capable of detaching from the seat due to a failure in the hardware component that connects the harness to the steel frame.”

If you are a member of the Settlement Class and you registered your class child seat with Britax, or if Britax otherwise has your contact information, you are a Known Class Member and do not need to submit a claim form. If you are an Unknown Class Member, you must submit a claim form and either (a) a receipt or other document showing your purchase of a class child seat showing the date of purchase, or (2) identification of the serial number for your class child seat and the manufacturing date (which must be between August 14, 2016 and September 30, 2019). Eligibility:

You may be eligible if you are a person who, when they were residents of California, bought for personal or household use a new Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Seat or Britax Pioneer Harness-2-Booster Seat, at any time between August 14, 2016 and August 14, 2020, where the seat has a manufacturing date between August 14, 2016 and September 30, 2019.

Benefit: Cash payment of $40.
