Case Summary:

BMW of North America, LLC and Bayerische Motoren  Werke AG is settling a class action suit by offering a variety of benefits to owners of certain of their vehicles. The complaint alleged that certain model year 2009 to 2014 BMW 5 series, 6 series, 7 series, X5, and X6 vehicles that are equipped with an N63 engine consumer excessive amounts of oil. This can lead to a need to add additional oil between oil changes, substantial battery drain, and possible premature battery failure. Note that not all of these models have the N63 engine.

You may be eligible if you are an entity in the US or Puerto Rico who owns or leases, or previously owned or leased, certain US-specification, model year 2009 to 2014 BMW 5 series, 6 series, 7 series, X5, and X6 vehicles that are equipped with an N63 engine, bought or leased in the US or Puerto Rico. Note that not all of these models are equipped with the N63 engine.

Typical Settlement Amount:

Reimbursement for: (a) past oil services, (b) past oil purchases, (c) towing or rental, (d) replacement of battery less than 3 years old. Future services: (a) N63 Customer Care Package, (b) 3 free oil services, (c) oil use test, (d) engine replacement.
