Eligibility:

You may be eligible if you are a member of any of these three classes:

  • 1681e(b) Class, Automatic Payment Group: All persons who, between September 27, 2015 and August 10, 2018, were the subject of a consumer report AppFolio prepared which contained public record information that the person disputed with AppFolio.
  • 1681e(b) Class, Claim Form Group: All persons who, between September 27, 2015 and August 10, 2018, were the subject of a consumer report AppFolio prepared which contained a public record where the first or last name on the record did not match character-for-character the first or last name on the person’s rental application. 
  • 1681g Class: All persons who, between September 27, 2015 and August 10, 2018, requested their own information from AppFolioand to whom AppFoliosent a copy of a consumer report it had previously sent to another party.

Note: To submit a claim form, you must have been refusal a rental or suffered other damage from the incorrect information.

Typical Settlement Amount:

The Auto Payment and Claim Form Classes will receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund. Final amount will depend on the number of valid claim forms received and the number of people who exclude themselves. The 1681g Class will receive a secure link from AppFolio through which they can access a copy of their previous credit report, with instructions on how to obtain their full file.
