Case Summary:This settlement resolves a class action against Accordia Life & Annuity Company and Alliance-One Services, Inc. The complaint alleged that certain life insurance policies (the Covered Policies) were not properly administered after an event called the Conversion, when they were transferred to Alliance-One’s system. These errors included things like errors in calculating the policies’ values, premium payments, nonpayment of benefits, and so on.

Eligibility:You may be eligible if you are a person or entity that had an ownership interest in one of the types of policies below, during the class period specified:
1. New Business Policies: Life insurance policies issued by Accordia and later administered by Alliance-One, between May 1, 2014 and June 7, 2019.
2. Converted Policies: Life insurance policies that were insured, managed, or reinsured by Accordia, its parent, or affiliated companies, including First Allmerica Financial Life Insurance Company and were converted or scheduled to be converted to Alliance-One’s systems, in either Wave 1 (between August 1, 2015 and June 7, 2019) or Wave 2 (between January 1, 2016 and June 7, 2019).
Beneficiaries of the policies are not included in the class.

Injunctive relief (that is, a requirement that the companies do things differently from now on) will be provided automatically. The Notice also says you may wish to wait until you receive and review your next annual statement, as this may resolve some issues.
