Hydro Mousse Grass Seed Product Class Action

According to the complaint for this class action, Hydro Mousse “spray and stay” grass seeding product is defective and does not work as advertised.

The class action includes all California residents who purchased Hydro Mousse in the US during the applicable statute of limitations.

Hydro Mousse is a product of the Eagle Eye Marketing Group, Inc., which, according to the complaint advertises the product as a quick and easy lawn seeder that “eliminates guesswork by clearly showing you where you’re planting”. The complaint claims that the product is also advertised as “Perfect For: Dog Spots, Large Areas, High Traffic Areas, and Shaded Areas”, that “The grass grows where you spray it!” and that it allows you to go “From Seed to Sod Just like the Pros!”

However, the complaint claims, the product does not work; it quotes several online comments, for example, “Purchased this, followed direction to a T—it is junk. Came out of spray bottle, hit the ground, absorbed and nothing! This is a total scam waste of money….I would highly suggest buying something else. Do not waste your money.”

According to the complaint, the product is sold at a premium price, yet does not work as advertised. It claims that complaints about Hydro Mousse allege the following:

  • The container does not spray properly, leaving most of the seeds in the bottom of the container after the green mousse has been sprayed out.
  • Even if you are able to get all the seeds out, the contents only cover about 20 square feet, not the 100 square feet promised.
  • The trigger shown on the bottle in the commercial does not really work; instead, once you turn on the water, all the product comes out at once, preventing spot treating.
  • Even if the instructions for soil preparation are followed, no grass actually grows in the treated area.

For these reasons, the complaint alleges that Hydro Mousse violates California state and other consumer protection laws.
