The complaint for this class action alleges that stores for 7-Eleven, Inc. in Illinois are equipped with surveillance systems that do more than merely survey and record goings-on in the stores. The complaint alleges that they “surreptitiously collect, capture, possess, or otherwise obtain biometric data.” They do this without notice to the customers whose data is being collected, stored, and used, and, the complaint alleges, in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
